40 Yards Down...8,000 Miles To Go!

Good Evening!
(Author: Chris Marshall)

There was a huge sigh of relief as we departed from St. Michael, MN at 11:30am today.  8 months of planning, fundraising and trip preparation was literally in our rear view mirror.  We had done the work, we felt excited and blessed and now we just needed to get there!

Then it happened...we made it!...all of 40 YARDS today before we had to retreat.  It's approximately 40 yards from the drop off curb at MSP to the American Airlines ticket counter.  Severe weather caused over 100 flight cancellations today at Chicago O'Hare airport.  Our flight from MSP to Chicago was canceled moments after checking our luggage at the ticket counter.  We were needless to say...disappointed but we are not discouraged!

After spending 6 hours at the MSP airport today we are at the Ramada hotel across from the Mall of America tonight.  We were re-booked on a flight to Philadelphia, PA at 2pm tomorrow (June 19).  We now depart for London at 10pm tomorrow night and we will arrive in Uganda, Africa at 10:50pm on Friday June 20th.

We've lost a day in Africa but we've not lost our enthusiasm to serve!  I believe the events of today strengthened our resolve and passion to serve.  We're knockin' on the front door of Uganda and we want to come in.  WE WANT TO COME IN!  And when HE is ready to open that door for us we will serve with grace, our faith and an abundance of enthusiasm.  I have NO doubt about that!

Please keep Mission Team 5 in your thoughts and prayers.  Thank you to those of you who have reached out to us via social media, phone calls and texts.  We feel your support and it is awesome!  Thank you Aaron and Andrew from Westbridge Church for the ride to the airport today we appreciated the ride and that time with you both.

Love and blessings to you all!

Chris
